NEXT JEWISH TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM

Question: Why don’t the people in Israel build the third Temple and usher in the return of the Messiah (Jesus, Yeshua, Isha)?

Two and a half reasons.

The first is that on the temple mount is the place where once was the ‘holy of holies’ sancta sanctorum, the innermost chamber of the temple that no Jew can enter (except for the high priest on Yom Kippur). A truly believing Jew will avoid this mountain altogether.

The second is that on the mountain is the al-Aksa mosque.  We respect the religious feelings of Moslems, and would do nothing to harm this mosque.

The third is that Jews don’t care much about Jesus, and would do absolutely nothing to usher his return.

Brian Lloyd’s response:

Gal’s comment is the Orthodox Jew’s position; and to be taken seriously, relative to what seems to be the “average” Jewish stance.  It is understandable relative to the Teaching of influential Rabbi such as “Rashi”, and others over many hundreds of years.

The “Christian” view, but not universally held in Christendom due to various teachings; is that a “temple” will be built, which may not be the Temple of Ezekiel 40+; which will be hosted by the “Assyrian” Anti-Christ; and which will be his stronghold until he demands worship as God; which brings the Jews to realization of his true identity; see Matt. 24 and Dan.12:11!

Whether this hypothetical temple is built on the “Temple Mount”, is yet to be seen, as there has been for some time controversy as to correct location; but the two Islamic structures on the “Temple Site” certainly give cause for conjecture!  One interesting point on this subject is that Jesus referred to the location as “the holy place”; which could/would give weight to the Ezekiel Temple argument!  If that is the case then the Temple would need to be cleansed and re-dedicated after the events of Anti-Christ!

What is of particular interest at the present time, and in the context of the warfare and turmoil of the Middle-East, is that the above theoretical possibilities may be taken seriously, and negotiations ensue towards what may be a fruitful outcome for all concerned; at least for the duration of prophetic realisation!

There has recently been reported that the “red heifer” stipulation of Jewish teachings has started, and so far has not been thwarted; so that factor needs to be seen to come to fruition for progress to be made on the whole subject in the Jewish context!

Should we see progress on the Ezekiel rebuild; then when the position of Dan.12:11 is reached; we know from that verse that a definite time period is initiated of 1,290 days, (3.5833 years@365/year); with a special blessing for those who “wait” till the time of 1,335 days (3.657 years@ 365/year,@ 360/year= 3.708 yrs.).  Because this latter is the Jewish year, one assumes it is the applicable factor!

The Bible seems to show that 3½ years is critical for the Jews, and has been commented on many times, as that of “Jacob’s trouble”; after which the second Advent of Christ Jesus is forecast; which brings into play the prophecy of Zech. 12:10 for the Jews; and Romans 11:25–27 for the Gentiles worldwide!

Prior to “Jacob’s Trouble”, it is stated by the Apostle Paul that “the Lord’s Body” (All Christians dead and alive) are “taken” to Jesus (1Thess. 4:13–18) in the air; as they are “not destined for Wrath” (1Thess. 5:9–10) which prevails during that 3½ year period, prior to Christ’s return; and following the Removal of the “Comforter/Restrained sent by Jesus at His Ascension”!
